Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 September 2026
ToolHush is a set of free tools that run in your web browser. This policy explains what happens to your files and what little information we collect. The short version: your files and text stay on your device, and the only analytics we use is Google Analytics, to count how many people visit.
- Your files stay on your device. Nothing you open, type or paste into a tool is uploaded to us.
- One analytics service. We use Google Analytics and nothing else to measure visitors.
- No accounts, no ads, no selling of data.
1. Your files and content
Every tool on ToolHush runs entirely inside your browser, using technologies such as JavaScript, WebAssembly, the Canvas API and the Web Crypto API. The files you choose, the text you type and the results you create are processed on your own device. They are not uploaded to, stored on, or shared with our servers or any third party, and they are gone when you close or refresh the page.
Nothing you enter into a tool is sent to Google Analytics. We do not have access to your files, and we cannot recover them for you.
2. Google Analytics — our only analytics service
To understand how many people use ToolHush and which pages and tools are popular, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (and Google Ireland Limited for users in the European Economic Area and the UK). It is the only analytics or tracking service on the site.
Google Analytics is loaded through Google Tag Manager, a tool that only manages which scripts run on the page; Tag Manager itself does not set cookies or collect personal data. Besides page views, we count clicks on our contact links (email, phone, WhatsApp and LinkedIn) so we know which contact options people use.
When you visit, Google Analytics may collect information such as: the pages you view and how long you stay, the page or site that referred you, your approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address — Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses), your device type, browser, operating system and screen size, and a randomly generated identifier that recognises your browser between visits.
We use this information only in aggregate, to measure usage and improve the tools. We do not use it for advertising or to build profiles of individuals, we do not combine it with any other data we hold, and we do not attempt to identify you. Google processes the data under its own terms; see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites.
3. Cookies and local storage
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) to tell visitors apart and to group page views into visits. They are used for analytics only.
Apart from these, ToolHush sets no cookies and uses no advertising or social-media trackers. Your light or dark theme choice is remembered in your browser's local storage; it stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.
4. Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a content or tracker blocker. The tools work exactly the same without analytics.
- Install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop your visits being measured by Google Analytics on any website.
- If you are in the EEA, UK or another region with data-protection rights, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data about you. As we hold no personal data ourselves, requests about analytics data are best directed to Google, but you can also contact us and we will help.
5. Hosting and other service providers
ToolHush is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request information (such as your IP address and browser details) to deliver pages and protect the service. The fonts and code that power the site are served from our own domain.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we have no accounts, advertising or newsletter that would require us to collect it.
6. Data retention
We do not store your files or content. Analytics data is retained by Google according to the data-retention settings of our Google Analytics property, after which it is deleted automatically.
7. Children
ToolHush is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age set by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how ToolHush works — for example by adding another service — we will update this page first and change the “last updated” date above.
