Terms of Service
Last updated 26 September 2026
These terms govern your use of ToolHush (the “service”), a collection of free online tools that run in your web browser. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. The service
ToolHush is provided free of charge, for personal and commercial use. Tools work in your browser on your device; we do not require an account, and we do not upload the files you work with. Features may be added, changed or removed at any time.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the tools on content you do not have the right to use or process;
- use the service for anything unlawful, or to harm, harass or defraud others;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at abusive volumes, or reverse-engineer the service or its infrastructure;
- present the service, its branding or its content as your own, or misrepresent your relationship with ToolHush.
3. Your files and content
Your files and text stay on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You keep all rights to what you put in and to the results you create; we claim no ownership or licence over them. You are solely responsible for having the necessary rights to the content you process and for how you use the output.
4. Accuracy of results and no professional advice
We work to make the tools correct — for example a lossless PDF merge or valid JSON output — but results can contain errors or differ from the original. Always check important output before relying on it. Documents such as invoices, and outputs such as hashes, encrypted text or schema markup, are provided as convenience tools and are not legal, financial, tax or security advice. Some algorithms offered, such as MD5, SHA-1, DES and RC4, are outdated and unsuitable for protecting sensitive data.
5. Third-party services
The site is hosted on Vercel and uses Google Analytics, the only analytics service we use, to count visitors. Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Details are in our Privacy Policy. The tools also rely on open-source software, which remains under its own licences.
6. Intellectual property
The ToolHush name, logo, design and site content are owned by Ranjith Ramesh or its licensors and are protected by law. You may use the service and the output it produces, but you may not copy or redistribute the site itself, its branding or its written content without permission.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Tools depend on your browser and device — very large files, older browsers or low-memory devices may not work — and we may suspend or change the service at any time.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ToolHush and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including loss caused by errors in a tool's output. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Suspension
We may restrict or block access to the service for anyone who breaches these terms or misuses the service.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The “last updated” date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India, unless local consumer law requires otherwise.
